As you may recall, the Crossfire started life as a show car at the 2001 Detroit auto show. To hear Chrysler tell it, "Public response to our Chrysler Crossfire concept vehicle was overwhelming." Chrysler’s burly 300 was given a midyear makeover for 2011, but the rejuvenation was only three-quarters complete. For 2012, the 300 gets a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, available with the 3.6-liter 292-bhp V-6, in either rwd or awd configuration. The optional 8-speed increases the 300’s highway fuel economy to 31 mpg, a bump of 4 mpg over the base 5-speed automatic. If you prefer eight big cylinders over eight forward speeds, the SRT8 model returns with a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 and 470 bhp. In between are the 300C and 300S with either V-6 or 5.7-liter V-8, and the 300C Luxury Series. A new “Beats by Dr. Dre” audio system is available to rattle the windows in all but the base 300.

There were some Sebring highlights over the years, including the fun-in-the-sun convertible and the second-generation coupe, which shared a platform with the Mitsubishi Eclipse. But overall, the Sebring was typically outclassed by other models in terms of refinement and performance.
The Sebring did receive a major update for 2011, but with it also came a name change; it's now known as the Chrysler 200.
Most Recent Chrysler Sebring.
The most-recent, third-generation Chrysler Sebring was introduced as a sedan for 2007 and convertible for '08. Production lasted until 2010. After that, Chrysler made major updates and renamed the car the Chrysler 200.
Both Sebring body styles were available in LX, Touring and Limited trims, while the convertible could be had with either a traditional soft-top design or a retractable hardtop. Base Sebrings started out reasonably well-equipped with full power accessories, front side-impact and full-length head curtain airbags, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a six-CD changer and, on the convertible, a power vinyl top (cloth was optional). Touring models got 17-inch alloy Chrysler wheels and a lengthier options list, while the top-of-the-line Limited featured leather trim, automatic climate control and a premium audio system. Options included a hard-drive navigation/audio system.

Most of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring's sales are to rental companies, not to private buyers. Stacked up against more refined midsize cars from Ford andGeneral Motors, and a host of imports, the Sebring is rarely the best investment. Not all reviewers go as far as the London Times did in calling it "almost certainly the worst car in the entire world," but few can recommend the 2010 Chrysler Sebring against similarly priced rivals that seem to outclass the Sebring on the road and in the showroom.
Critics cite the 2010 Chrysler Sebring for sub-par cabin materials, sometimes-shoddy fit and finish, and a choice of several unimpressive engines. Long-term cost-of-ownership is a concern as well. It's largest engine is among the least fuel-efficient offered at this price point.
Chrysler has announced plans for a thoroughly refreshed Sebring under a new name (most likely, the Chrysler Nassau), which it hopes to introduce for the 2011 model year.

Chrysler has officially pulled the wraps off the new 300 sedan.
Designed to redefine American luxury, the flagship saloon is as menacing as it is elegant. Draped in layers of chrome, the exterior is distinguished by a bold grille, LED-infused headlights, and sculpted bodywork.
Inside, the interior is nicely-equipped with items such as dual-zone automatic climate control, Uconnect Touch, black comodo elm trim, and LED ambient lighting. If that isn't impressive enough, moving up to the 300C trim level adds Nappa leather upholstery, GPS navigation, olive ash trim, and heated / ventilated seats. The redesigned 2011 Chrysler 300 took a leap forward in refinement, but the large sedan's makeover didn't come with an SRT8 variant. No worries, though, because the all-new, more powerful and damn sharp-looking 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is debuting today at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
There's a lot to go over on this new 300 SRT8, but we wouldn't waste a vowel before talking power. Gone is the 425-horsepower 6.1-liter Hemi V8, replaced with the the Pentastar's new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that first appeared in the new Challenger SRT8 392. The new V8 produces 465 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, up 40 ponies and 45 lb-ft versus the outgoing engine. What's more, that upgraded output is also more usable for 2012, as Chrysler tells us we can expect an additional 80 lb-ft of torque at 2,900 rpm, which translates into more thrust from a standstill. How much? Official estimates are 0-60 "in the high four-second range," and a quarter-mile time of fewer than 13 seconds. The transmission of choice will be the carryover five-speed automatic, though paddle shifters will join the automatic to give drivers a couple options for gear selection.

Although we may rhapsodize over the beauty of our favorite cars, precious few of them could be considered art. Whistler didn’t refresh his painting of his mom four years after completing it. Nor did he completely redo it every seven years for the rest of his life. And as much as the 300 might have looked like Chrysler’s chef-d’oeuvre in 2004, the company couldn’t just sit back and let it be. For 2011, the 300 receives a refresh rather than the redesign for which it is due, but the update addresses the most important things.
Much of the money allotted to the 300 rework went to the interior. Like the rejuvenated interiors in other recent Chrysler redesigns, virtually everything you can see or touch inside is improved by an order of magnitude: the dash, the center stack, the steering wheel, the door panels and seats—the list goes on. And the materials are light-years better, too. The dash is soft, the buttons on the new steering wheel actuate with a satisfying click, and the HVAC knobs slip from detent to detent as if lubricated by a film of oil. Nestled in that updated dash, the new tach and speedometer are stunning, highly readable, and not overly ornamental. A new touchscreen navigation/infotainment display rides atop the center stack, beneath the classy trapezoidal clock that is emerging as a signature of Chrysler interiors. The optional Garmin-based nav system’s bold colors and large graphics make it easy to use, but they lend it an almost juvenile appearance. Still, we prefer basic and useful to elegant and stupefying.

The brand new 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan has come and gone so now it’s finally time for the model we’ve all been waiting for, the high-performance 300 SRT8, which goes on display this week at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
As previously reported, Chrysler is skipping the 2011 model year for the new-generation of its 300 SRT8, introducing it as a 2012 model instead. This means that engineers still have some time to fine tune its new drivetrain and chassis as the popular muscle sedan isn’t due in showrooms until this fall.
Details we can confirm include the installation of the automaker’s 6.4-liter ‘392’ Hemi V-8, found in various other SRT8 products like the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 and 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8. In its 300 SRT8 application, the big motor churns out a healthy 465 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque--up 40 horsepower and 45 pound-feet over the 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 it replaces.

Where engineers have really focused is mid-range torque. An active intake manifold and high-lift camshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque while optimizing high-end power. The result is an additional 80 pound-feet of twist at 2,900 rpm compared to the outgoing model, which translates to improved overtaking ability at most speeds.

Projected performance numbers include 0-60 mph acceleration in the high 4.0 second range; quarter mile ETs in the 12 second bracket; 0-100-0 mph in less than 16 seconds, top speed of 175 mph and stopping power from 60-0 mph in 120 feet. It’s safe to say the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 will have what it takes to keep up with the M5s and E63 AMGs of this world.

However, even with these elevated power numbers, an estimated 25 percent fuel economy increase on the highway is expected thanks to a new for 2012 active valve exhaust system that allows the standard Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation technology to engage over a wider rpm range. The new active exhaust system also allows for straight-through mid and rear mufflers for a throaty exhaust note under engine load.
It won’t just be about brute strength, however. Like its Charger SRT8 sibling, the new 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 will also get Chrysler’s latest Adaptive Damping Suspension that uses a wide range of on-road and driver inputs, such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position and lateral acceleration, to automatically tune the suspension for specific conditions.
Drivers can also choose from Auto or Sport settings, which alter the damping force depending on which setting is selected.
Stopping power comes from 14.2 inch (front) and 13.8 inch (rear) vented/slotted rotors with four-piston Brembo calipers painted in a silver finish. Included as standard is the Ready Alert Braking system, which engages the electronic stability control pump to set the brake pads against rotors in order to decrease the time required for full brake application when the driver quickly lifts their foot of the accelerator pedal.
The premium brakes reside within 20-inch lightweight forged aluminum wheels. Other exterior features include a sporty bodykit, black chrome detailing, a lowered ride height and HID headlights.
Inside, there’s a definite race car feel though things always remain luxurious. Key features include a heated leather steering wheel, SRT logos all around, carbon fiber trim and an option performance display screen that shows 0-60 times, eighth and quarter mile times, 60-0 braking distance, along with lateral and longitudinal g-forces.
A Harmon Kardon sound system is an option, as is a Garmin navigation system. Of course, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 also gets the automaker’s Uconnect interface system and 8.4 inch touchscreen display.

The 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser has been simplified to one model - the PT Cruiser Classic. The PT Cruiser Classic has outstanding content, with a standard automatic, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, sixteen-inch aluminum wheels, tinted windows, and cruise control standard. Chrome trim is now standard on the interior and exterior of the vehicle including a body colored grill with chrome accents, and chrome body side moldings.

Most of the 2011's sheetmetal is new, with a heavily reworked front fascia and tweaked rear end differentiating the car significantly from the outgoing model. A smaller, sloped chrome grille with horizontal slats replaces the Bentley-style egg-crate design, and the old rectangular headlights are out, supplanted by more curvaceous LED-laden eyes. Chrysler’s goal with the 300 is to offer various demographics different options to choose from in order to cover a wider range of the driving population than its current competition. This is a mission in which Chrysler has undoubtedly succeeded.
Where the Chrysler 300 stands out from most luxury models is in its base package. The 300 includes 17 inch wheels, four wheel disc brakes, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a EER V6 that dishes out 180 HP. The Touring and Heritage models both use a 3.5L V8 that demonstrates up to 250 horsepower. The 300C is where Chrysler really turns up the heat. The 300C employs a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 which can punch out up to 340 HP on a 5-speed automatic transmission.
